The trail will be closed from 8am until noon on Saturday for the Salem Lake Trail Run event.

The city has dumped new dirt on the trail and scrapped most of the trail. An excavator and a road compacter were working on the trail today. The trail surface is the best it's been in many years. Both sides of the big dirt hill are smooth. There is still a lot of loose dirt but after the ground pounders finish their racer Saturday morning, it should be more solid.

Enjoy the nice surface while you can, it will be a least a year before it happens again.
